Finance & Administration Manager – Lukenya Getaway


Role Summary

Lukenya Getaway (www.lukenyagetaway.co.ke) is a leading holiday and conferencing resort located in the serene Athi plains next to Daystar University.'


We are recruiting for the position of Finance & Admin Manager, whose overall responsibility will be oversight on finance, procurement and general administration functions of the resort, reporting to the General Manager. The role supervises professional staff, works closely with other senior managers and has frequent interaction with the Finance and Audit Committee which reports to the Lukenya Board.


Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Formulating and reviewing financial policies and procedures and ensuring accuracy in documentation, payments, taxes transactions.

  • Preparation of financial reports required by all stakeholders, ensuring they are within statutory and company requirements.

  • Overall responsibility for budget plans, preparations including guiding other departments in assumptions, process and projections.

  • Oversee credit control, payments, cash and bank reconciliation including investment to maximise returns.

  • Oversee general administration including payroll, procurement, handling and safekeeping of confidential information and critical company assets such as seals, licenses among others.

  • Responsible for corporate risk management, include due diligence review prior to large business commitments and commissioning of projects.

  • Responsible for ensuring effective and efficient Information and Communication Technology (ICT) systems.

Qualifications skills and abilities required

  • Professional accounting qualifications (CPAK, ACCA and a member of ICPAK)

  • Degree in accounting, economics, business or relevant field

  • A minimum of three years experience in managing a medium sized finance department preferable in the hospitality industry or fast moving consumer goods environment.

  • Ability to lead, train, coach, mentor and motivate others

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for relating in a complex environment

  • Good organisational and problem solving skills.
