Operations Director – LVCT Health
Our client LVCT Health is a Nairobi based local health NGO is focused on reducing new HIV infections through increased equitable access to quality health services – seeking to fill the position of Operations Director. This role requires a dynamic, strategic and experienced individual with a track record of excellence, innovation, change management and impact to provide overall leadership to Finance, Human Resources, Procurement and ICT departments of the organisation. This role reports to the Executive Director (ED) and has close interface with the Board of Directors.
Key responsibilities include:
Develop strategic initiatives, objectives and execution strategies that are aligned to the organisations vision of providing sustainable healthcare to Kenyan communities.
Provide strategic direction for the future growth of operations while identifying and managing operational risks.
As a senior executive, provide strategic and inspiring leadership that encourages optimal performance towards operational efficiency, effectiveness and excellence.
Provide overall oversight on finance including resource planning, optimal use of financial resources, engage with suitable partners and develop suitable leads for financial growth of the organisation.
Ensure full compliance to local and international donor reporting requirements and implement audit recommendations.
Identify risks that may pose threat to organisational performance and provide suitable solutions to mitigate and enhance sustainability of initiative within scope assigned.
Provide strategic oversight to the Human Resources function including overseeing optimal planning, resourcing, motivation and retention of employees to deliver the organisation’s objectives.
Overall oversight over the organisation’s procurement, ICT and administration needs ensuring timely availability of all resources needed to facilitate effective and efficient operations.
Prepare Board reports and present management plans, outcomes and risks to the Board of Directors and ensure sufficient support to the Finance & Audit Committee.
Qualifications and experience
Masters in Finance, Economics, HR or Strategy
Member of ICPA(K)
Proven HR & finance management experience in indicated roles
At least 10 years proven experience in at senior positions, 5 of which must be in the NGO or development sector.
Core competencies: strategic leadership, excellent communication, good interpersonal relations, effective judgement and decision making, good negotiation and conflict management skills.
